Recommended/Typical eiPower Policy Settings

The following settings are typical recommended settings for eiPower. These settings will force computers into standby at the end of each working day and will wake the computers each morning in preparation for users arrival. The default power policies will also put the computers into standby when they are inactive out of business hours.

Where scheduled maintenance activates (such as Defrag, Backups, Anti virus update/scans or Patching) are performed after hours then add an additional scheduled power policy for these periods.

Another recommendation I would make is to enable computers to wake when a key is pressed or the mouse is moved. This can be done with the powecfg command.

Set the Dialog countdown interval (sec) = 60

Scheduled Power Policies

Create 5 scheduled power policies, one for each business day Monday to Friday, with the following settings:

Name : [Day Name] Business Hours
Start Time : 7am
End Time : 7pm
Wake At Start : TRUE
At Period End : Standby Computer
Only Perform when no user is logged on : FALSE
